What We Look For
Confirms the project team has legitimate control over the GitHub organization they claim.
Verification Process:
- Request GitHub organization URL from applicant
- Verify founder/team member is listed as owner or admin
- Cross-reference GitHub username with LinkedIn or verified identity
- Check organization creation date and activity history

Finding Information
Step 1: Locate Your GitHub Organization
- Organization URL (e.g.,
github.com/your-org) - Organization owner/admin usernames
- Link to team member profiles
Step 2: Verify Team Member Roles
Check that:
- At least one verified team member is listed as owner/admin
- GitHub usernames match team profiles
- Organization creation date makes sense
Submitting Evidence
When submitting GitHub connection:
Organization URL: Full GitHub organization URL
Owner/Admin: Name of team member who is owner/admin
GitHub Username: The admin's GitHub username
Cross-Reference: How to verify identity (LinkedIn showing GitHub username, etc.)
